Liverpool wins

LONDON: Liverpool scored three second-half goals on aturday to beat Tottenham 3-0 and move up to fifth in the English football Premier League, continuing its opponent's poor start to the season.

Chile winger Mark Gonzalez scored in the 63rd minute, The Netherlands striker Dirk Kuyt doubled the lead 10 minutes later and Norway's John Arne Riise completed the scoring with a minute left.

While Liverpool got its second win in a week after its 2-0 victory over Newcastle, Tottenham hasn't scored in its past four Premier League games. Liverpool has 10 points from six games and Tottenham has just four. — AP
