NEW DELHI: Central Bureau of Investigation Director Vijay Shanker has been elected to the Executive Committee of Interpol.

In the election to the post of delegate for Asia, he received the highest number of votes.

Participants from 152 countries took part in the election held at the 75th session of the general assembly of Interpol held at Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, from September 19 to 22.
