KOZHIKODE: A leopard created panic near Pulpally in Wayanad after it attacked and injured a man near Sasi Mala on Saturday. P. Sasi, 40, was attacked as he was walking in a hilly pepper grove. The leopard was with a cub. Sasi was admitted to a hospital in Sulthan Bathery with injuries on his head and legs. The Forest Department personnel had set a trap for the leopard after local people complained that the animal had become a threat to them and domestic animals. However, the animal remains at large. Nearly 40 goats and a number of dogs were killed in recent times reportedly by the leopard.
