Singh signs off in style

KOZHIKODE: D.P. Singh signed off in style, finishing with a win on Saturday in the tenth and final round of the Calicut FIDE rating all-India open chess tournament, which he had won a with a round to spare a day ago. The top seed scored 9.5 points out of the maximum 10.

The second place went to the third seed R.R. Laxman, while the second seed K. Ratnakaran finished third. They had shared for the second place with four others - all with 7.5 points apiece - but were helped by superior progressive scores.
