Indian colts clinch series

Lahore: The Indian under-19 team inflicted a humiliating 174-run defeat on Pakistan colts here on Saturday to clinch the four-match one-day cricket series with a game to spare.

Electing to bat, Indians made 298 for nine before bowling out the host for 124 in 36.5 overs. Captain and leg-spinner Piyush Chawla took three for 28, while off-spinner Sumeet Sharma bagged three 3 for 34 to star in India's win. Paceman Abu Nachim took two for 19.

The Indians owed their formidable total to left-hander Tanmay Srivastav who scored a fine 88 with seven 4s from 114 balls. He put on 152 runs for the third wicket with Virat Kohli who made 80 from 92 balls with nine 4s.

For Pakistan, Tanvir Afzal took three for 45.

Chasing the target, Pakistan wickets fell like nine pins and only Rana Adnan showed some resistance with a top score of 27. — PTI
