VIJAYAWADA : Cell IT Trade Show, the biggest IT event in the coastal areas, will be organised in the city from September 30 to October 2. Multinational and national companies - Intel, LG, Epson, Canon, Toshiba, HP, Wep, Frontech, HCL and Nokia - will exhibit their latest products and technologies at the fair being billed as one of its kind in the State. Mobile phone companies will also participate in it.
Response awaited
Addressing a press conference here on Saturday, district Collector Navin Mittal said this could be the biggest event of IT products so far in the city. Depending on the response, the administration would encourage more shows like this. Organiser Dinesh Shyamsukha said it would be conducted at Sri Sesha Sai Kalyana Vedika. Exhibits from various parts of the country would be showcased in over 60 stalls. There would be freebies, lucky draws, musical programmes and availability of quality food. All the stalls were already booked. Mr. Dinesh said Tata Sky, Asus, Netgear, Lenovo, IBM and other companies would participate in the show and a similar event would be organised in Visakhapatnam in future.
IT development
Being a nerve centre of engineering colleges and residential junior colleges, the city has figured in the list of important destinations that major IT companies would vie to explore opportunities for the development of information technology. The city has been placed among the top 20 fastest growing cities of the country.
