Cycling expedition to promote communal harmony

Udhagamandalam: A four-member cycling expedition to promote humanism and communal harmony reached here on Monday.

Stating that the expedition had been organised by the Mahatma Sarvodaya Iyakkam, its secretary M. Maduraiveeran, a driver by profession, who is leading the group said that Congress leader G.K. Vasan had flagged off the rally at Madurai on August 14.

Stating that the expedition had so far covered 18 districts and about 2,200 km, he said that it would conclude at Anna Arivaalayam in Chennai on October 2.

Permission

If the Central and State Governments gave permission, an expedition for World Peace would be organised.

The members called on the District Revenue Officer, C. Rajakumar, and the Personal Assistant (General) to the Collector, Mariappan, at the Collectorate here.
