KARIMNAGAR: Come Dasara and it is fun time as well as celebration in the form of special prayers to Goddess Durga. Navratri festivities end in song and dance to rhythmic beats, especially within the Gujarati community of Karimnagar town where a massive Dandiya dance programme is organised. Around 200 and odd Gujarati families, who have migrated long ago and are presently into business here, take part in Dandiya everyday during the nine-day festival.
For all age groups
Dandiya dance commences after the customary pooja to the goddess. It goes late into the night with men, women, youth and children swaying to peppy numbers of popular Hindi and Gujarati songs. The aged as well as youngsters participate with equal fervour.
