Mumbai: Film director Sanjay Leela Bhansali and seven others on Monday applied for anticipatory bail, fearing arrest in a case registered against them under Essential Commodities Act. The application will come up for hearing on September 28. Borivali police yesterday questioned Bhansali with regard to a criminal complaint filed by antique dealer Farida Hoosainally. Hoosainally had rented out rare antique furniture for Bhansali's film `Black', which was burnt in a fire on the sets of the movie during the shooting. Hoosainally also filed a police case against Bhansali and other directors of Applause Bhansali Film, a production company which produced `Black', alleging that during the shooting, domestic LPG cylinders were used, which is prohibited.
