Lucknow: A fast track court here on Monday pronounced a total imprisonment of 21-and-a-half years for five brothers for attempting to murder an on-duty police officer on May 30 last. The maximum imprisonment to any of the accused is 10 years. Additional District Judge (Fast track court) Dharamraj Mishra pronounced imprisonment to the five brothers -- presently lodged in jail -- under section 307 (attempt to murder) and other relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). On May 30 evening, five accused -- Prithviraj Lohia, Harshvardhan Lohia, Narain Lohia, Udayraj Lohia and Rajnarain Lohia -- were travelling in their jeep fitted with a hooter and a red beacon light in the Chowk area here. When the Circle Officer (Chowk) Rajesh Sahani tried to stop them, the accused tried to flee, but the police officer jumped on to the bonnet of their vehicle. UNI
