KARIMNAGAR: The Tourism Department conducted essay-writing and painting competitions for schoolchildren at the Gandhi centenary museum in Karimnagar on Tuesday. The event was held as part of the World Tourism Day on Wednesday. The winners of essay competitions are: Md Azam, J. Arun Prasad and Ch Srikanth (Telugu), R Premchand, K Palitha Grace, K Ravali Reddy, D Deepthi Priyanka (English). The winners of painting competitions are S. Abhijeeth, Md Azam and V Mounika. Prizes will be distributed at a function to be held at Kalabharathi on Wednesday. At Kalabharathi, the district authorities have made elaborate arrangements for the celebration of Tourism Day. A musical nite, magic show and mimicry are among the cultural programmes planned.
