CHANDIGARH: Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda said on Tuesday that the next of kin of farmers who were killed in farmers' agitations, during the tenures of the previous governments, in Kadma and Mandiyali villages would not only be given employment but also due compensation. Addressing a public meeting at Lohchab, the native village of Bhartiya Kisan Union chief Ghasi Ram Nain in Jind district, Mr. Hooda said the rate of sugarcane would be enhanced during the next crushing season. He asserted that his regime had adopted a policy of equitable distribution of water and several irrigation projects had been implemented. He disclosed that Rs. 2,924 crores would be spent during the current financial year for generation, transmission and distribution of power. He said projects to generate 5,000 MW of power would be completed in the next three years.
