PRIZE CATCH: Adilabad SP Kripanand Tripathi Ujela announcing the busting of a fake note circulation gang at a press conference on Tuesday.
ADILABAD: The Bellampalli police on Tuesday arrested three members of an inter-State six-member gang involved in the circulation of fake currency notes in the town. Thadaboina Narsaiah, a tea powder vendor of Narsampet in Warangal, Renigunta Easwar of Mancherial working in a liquor shop and Kapirapu Padma of AMC area in Bellampalli were arrested and fake currency notes in denominations of Rs. 100, all worth Rs. 91,000, were seized from their possession.
House raided
The absconding persons were Chiluveru Ravi and Gangaiah Narsi Reddy of Narsampet and Vemula Venkatesh of Bellampalli. Producing the three accused persons at a press conference, Superintendent of Police Kripanand Tripathi Ujela said coming to know of the circulation of fake currency in Bellampalli, CI R. Bhaskar and I Town SI B.V. Satyanarayana raided the house of Padma and seized 85 fake notes. She was handed over Rs. 10,000 by Narsaiah, her paramour, of which she spent Rs. 1,500. The arrest of two other accused persons followed soon. They revealed that Narsaiah had come into contact with Gangidi Narsi Reddy also of Narsampet and Chiluveru Ravi who offered to provide fake notes worth Rs. 2 lakhs in lieu of original notes half the worth.
