NIZAMABAD: Over 22,000 physically challenged persons were identified in the district and almost all would be given artificial limbs after surgeries in a phased manner, said Minister for Rural Development, D. Srinivas. On the valedictory of the three-day medical camp for the physically challenged at Dichapply on Tuesday, he said Rs.1.20 crores were spent for the welfare of the disabled in the district this year. At least 10 per cent fund in all welfare schemes was allocated to them. Over 800 handicapped associations were set up in the district.
