HYDERABAD: With Dasara festival just a week to go, sales at all the two-wheeler automobile shops in the twin cities have gone up tremendously. Girls outsmart boys in purchasing two-wheeler vehicles during this festive season. Hero Honda Activa is the most sought-after vehicle by girls and working women after TVS Scooty Pept. Such was the craze for the Activa vehicle that a majority of them booked for the vehicle three months ago to get the bike for the festival. "All arrangements have been made to deliver vehicles before Dasara. Anyone who is booking for the new vehicle can get it only in December," said Suresh, a salesman in a showroom at Ranigunj. Sales may increase after "Amayvasya" which falls on Friday. Over 400 motorcycles were sold in September last year in connection with the festival. At the same time, many shopkeepers wanted to cash in on the sentiment of the people by offering discounts and loan facility. "We are providing loan facility at 5.9 per cent interest rate without advance equated monthly instalment, " Sushil, General Manager of Rahul Automobiles at Begumpet, said.
