Srinagar:
Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad, on Tuesday, said that the balance relief amount for families hit by last year's earthquake would be released at one go instead of the proposed two instalments.
The entire amount of Rs. 60,000 each for 26,188 households would be distributed soon so that construction of permanent houses is completed before this year, Mr. Azad said while addressing public meetings in Tangdhar and Teetwal areas of Kupwara district. He said the villages ruined in the earthquake that hit the area on October 8 last year would be rebuilt as model hamlets and expressed satisfaction over the progress of work in Tangdhar.
