Hyderabad: The Central Power Distribution Company has made all arrangements for providing additional transformers and standby mobile generators at various locations especially near the mosques and Idghas during the month of Ramzan. A round the clock electricity control room has been set up at Charminar CBD with telephone numbers 23433289, 23433282 and 9440813923. According to a press release, arrangements had been made for alternative supply from two 11 KV feeders for Mecca Masjid. One assistant engineers along with sufficient staff had been deputed to maintain uninterrupted power supply for the mosque and to look after all works related to power supply. Besides a generator of 62.5 KVA capacity had been kept at Mecca Masjid for emergency purpose. One UPS of 5 KVA capacity had also been provided. At various locations from Mecca Masjid to Nayapul 11 mobile transformers had been kept to cater to the additional load during the festive period. Around 1000 engineers and O&M staff of Hyderabad North, South and Central circles had been working in shifts to ensure uninterrupted power supply.
Additional load
The CPDCL had urged the people to take necessary electricity safety measures during `namaz' as there would be movement of a large number of persons. In case of emergency, people had been advised to approach the nearest electricity office or dial 155333 for help. In case of any problem the following officers could be contacted.
