HYDERABAD: Members of the Government Colleges Contract Lecturers Association have cleaned the road and premises of the Board of Intermediate at Nampally protesting against the State Government's failure to implement their long-standing demands. Speaking to reporters on Wednesday, Association president K. Nageswara Rao said that the Government should enhance their salaries immediately. Contract lectures had been getting only Rs.5,000 when compared to Rs.25,000 earned by the lectures appointed on permanent basis, he said. Mr. Rao said over 6,000 lecturers were not getting salaries on time. As a result, they were facing several financial hardships. The Association has also decided to conduct a mock auction of the Board office on its premises on Wednesday. A memorandum would later be submitted to Chief Minister Y. S. Rajasekhara Reddy requesting him to solve their problems, he said.
