NEW DELHI: T he Indian Air Force will henceforth hold its annual flying display at Hindon, on the outskirts of the Capital, to minimise the inconvenience caused to the public. "The Air Force Founding Day parade and flypast on October 8 will henceforth be held over the Hindon airbase near Ghaziabad," Air Marshal A.K. Singh, Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief of the Western Command, told newsmen here on Tuesday. The decision was taken in "national interest" to avoid any requirement of airspace closure for rehearsals and the final air display. The display this year would see the participation of 46 aircraft.
