Rupee gains further

MUMBAI: The rupee rose further against the U.S. currency and closed higher at 45.8950/9050 a dollar on Wednesday in line with good foreign institutional investment inflows into the stock market. However, the customary month-end dollar demand played small part during early trading, dealers said.

In a active trading at the interbank foreign exchange market here, the Indian unit resumed steady at 45.92/94 a dollar from overnight close of 45.92/93 and after moving in a range of 45.8900 and 45.9400, ended at 45.8950/9050 per dollar.— PTI
