Puducherry: Puducherry State Freedom Fighters Federation president M. Periyasamy has called upon the United Progressive Alliance Government to drop its plan to confer autonomy on JIPMER. In a release here on Wednesday, he said a joint meeting of freedom fighters of Puducherry and Karaikal would be held here on Thursday to persuade UPA chairman Sonia Gandhi to prevent the conversion of JIPMER.
