Samajwadi Party to organise rally in Hubli today

  • `Hubli-Dharwad lost a chance to be included under the JNNURM'
  • Parties held responsible for delay in making the circuit bench operational

HUBLI: Samajwadi Party leaders from Hubli have alleged that a systematic political conspiracy is being hatched to marginalise Hubli-Dharwad with regard to development.

In a release here, party leaders Govindaraj Harivan, C.G. Patil, Hanumanth Hugar, Bhimshe Menasinakai and H.V. Tungala have alleged that major political parties the Congress, Janata Dal (Secular) and the BJP were involved in the conspiracy.

They alleged that all the three parties had a secret understanding because of which Hubli-Dharwad lost a chance to be included under the Jawaharlal Nehru National Urban Renewal Mission (JNNURM). Consequently, the twin cities were deprived of financial assistance to the tune of hundreds of crores of rupees, which the twin cities were entitled to receive under the scheme.

They alleged that these political parties were responsible for what they termed "deliberate delay" in making the Circuit Bench of High Court of Karnataka functional.

    Protest

In order to highlight the failures of the coalition Government and the injustice meted out to the citizens of the twin cities, the party would be organising a rally on Thursday in Hubli, they informed in the release.
