Potential entrepreneurs make their pitch at camp

Staff Reporter

It will help candidates evaluate their ideas

CHENNAI : Aspiring entrepreneurs walked in with bags full of ideas and hope at the `Innovator Identification Camp 2006,' organised by the Vellore Institute of Technology on Tuesday. The camp was aimed at identifying potential entrepreneurs, who would later receive training in the skills required for entrepreneurship.

H.K. Mittal, advisor and head, National Science & Technology Entrepreneurship Development Board (NSTEBD) division, Department of Science and Technology, said the programme would help candidates evaluate their ideas and develop into practically feasible models.

Gopal Srinivasan, director, TVS Electronics, said the potential for entrepreneurship in India was high. "Aspiring entrepreneurs need not worry about big players dominating the space, as there is always space for innovative ideas. In fact, big companies could be your source of ideas or people," he added.
