Queen Mary's students union inaugurated

The student union election was held in August

CHENNAI: Students of Queen Mary's College were excited to see their peers assume office at the inauguration of the students union recently.

Speaking on the occasion, Director of Collegiate Education S. Mani said mere textbook knowledge was not sufficient for a successful career.

He urged students to equip themselves with good communication skills.

He suggested that students pursue a fine art such as music alongside academics to enhance their overall personality.

Principal Eugini Pinto said the college was celebrating its 93rd year and sought students' cooperation to achieve greater heights in academics.

The student union election was held in August. A total of 13 office bearers were elected for various posts.

P. Srilekha, a final year geography student, assumed office as president of the day college, while R.M. Valliammai, a final year B.Com student, took charge as president of the evening college.
