Germany loses one F-1 race

FRANKFURT: Germany will have only one Formula One race a season starting next year, with the German Grand Prix alternating between Nuerburgring and Hockenheim.

``We've agreed on alternating,'' Hockenheim spokesman Hartmut Tesseraux said.

Germany has staged two races a season since 1995, driven by the success of seven-time world champion Michael Schumacher.

The 2007 German Grand Prix will be staged at Nuerburgring, with the race returning to Hockenheim in 2008. The calendar for next year will be finalised on October 18 by FIA, the sport's governing body. — AP
