Mumbai: Ajay Shirke, President, Maharashtra Cricket Association (MCA), said that his association was free to hire any foreign player for the Ranji Trophy Super League. "I spoke to BCCI President Sharad Pawar and Secretary Niranjan Shah. They are very clear in their views on this matter," said Shirke. "Nayan Doshi, son of former India left-arm spinner Dilip Doshi, is a British National. He has played for Saurashtra in the Ranji Trophy. So where's the question of Maharashtra seeking official permission from the BCCI. "The rule says that a team can hire three outstation players. We are looking for a player who will fit into the team. We are not looking for Shane Warne or Darren Gough," said Mr. Shirke. Last year, fast bowler Munaf Patel played a big role and Maharashtra stayed in the Elite Division (now Super League). With Munaf likely to be busy playing for Team India, Maharashtra is in search of young fast bowlers. Special Correspondent
