Leelamma, Angad Kumar bag top honours

Mysore: Angad Kumar of Bengal Engineer Centre (Roorkee) ran a tactical race, overtook second-placed Siddappa Shivannur of Dharwad around 600m from the finish line to win men's event, with a timing of 1hour, 9.26:00s, in the 3rd Mysore half-marathon which began at the Palace gate and concluded at the Chamundivihar stadium.

In the women's section, Leelamma Alphanso of Western Railway (Mumbai) retained the title with a timing of 1:25:17.00s.

The first three place winners took home cash prizes of Rs. 25,000, 15,000 and 10,000 respectively. The fourth to sixth place winners in both the sections secured Rs. 5000 each.

Cycle road race

Meanwhile, the Dasara Sports Committee will conduct the cycle road race from Ramanagaram to Mysore for men (6.30 a.m.) and for women from Nanjangud to Mysore (7.30 a.m.) on Thursday.
