Sarpanches to be trained on Government schemes

ANANTAPUR: The Zilla Parishad in association with A. Madhava Reddy of Andhra Pradesh Academy of Rural Development (APARD) has taken up training of the resource persons. They will in turn create awareness among sarpanches, upa-sarpanches and ward members of gram panchayats on Government programmes and schemes. An orientation programme for 200 resource persons was conducted here on Wednesday and 60 among them were selected . The selected would be attending a six-day resource-training programme to be held at the APARD training centre at Srikalahasti in Chittoor district.

After their training at Srikalahasti, the resource persons would be formed into 15 teams of four members each. The teams would further train sarpanches, upa-sarpanches and ward members on the Government programmes and schemes for four days in each mandal. Chief Executive Officer of ZP K. Sripathi Rao and Deputy CEO G. Jayapala Reddy participated in the progamme.
