Bringing medical facilities under one roof

Staff Reporter

TIRUCHI: In a bid to bring medical facilities and related product launches under one roof, the Tiruchi Moon Rock Round Table 108 is organising a three-day health exhibition, `Health Expo,' from Friday.

"The exhibition, to be held at Vasavi Mahal, also aims at warding off fears in the minds of the people when it comes to seek medical help for their ilments," said the Chairman of the Round Table, S. Manivannan. Over 40 stalls would feature hospitals, speciality health centres, medical magazines, fitness equipment, medical transcription and other health-related products and services.

Apart from the allopathic facilities, the exhibition would also feature products of alternative therapies such as ayurveda, siddha and homeopathy.

Healthcare products such as glucose checking equipment, electronic BP apparatus, water and airbeds, wheelchairs, crutches and surgical equipment would also be put up for sale.

Most of the hospitals putting up stalls, would conduct free medical check-ups for eye, blood pressure, glucose and blood sugar levels, Mr. Manivannan said.

Quite a few non-governmental organisations would also be featured in the exhibition that aims at creating awareness among the people on AIDS, tuberculosis and diabetes. Seminars and interactive sessions would be held in the evenings.

While the first day would witness a seminar on `Infertility' by the Ishwarya Infertility Treatment Centre, programmes on cancer awareness, anaesthesia and plastic surgery would be held on the second and third days. The exhibition would be open from 10 a.m to 8 pm and the seminars and interactive sessions be held everyday from 6.30 p.m, he added.
