Kozhikode: P. Sathidevi, Vadakara MP, has said the production and distribution of medicines should be brought under the Department of Health. As of now, it was under the control of the Department of Petroleum and Chemicals. She was inaugurating the convention of women pharmacists organised under the auspices of the Kerala Private Pharmacists' Association (KPPA) here on Wednesday. The production and distribution of several drugs, which had been banned in many countries, should be immediately stopped in the country too, she said. KPPA State secretary Karunakaran presided. The Indian Medical Association medical wing president P.A. Lalitha, Drugs Inspector Helen William, Pharmacy Council members M.R. Ajith Kishor and O.C. Naveen Chand, KPPA president K.R. Dinesh Kumar and treasurer Jayan Koroth took part.
