JEYPORE: General secretary of the State Bank of India Officers Association from Bhubaneswar, Ganesh Chandra Mishra, has welcomed the Central Government's decision on amalgamation of regional rural banks -- Koraput Panchavati Gramya (KPG) Bank, Kalahandi Gramya Bank and Balangir Gramya Bank -- into Utkal Gramya Bank covering 50 per cent of the total districts and 60 per cent of the total geographical area of Orissa to form the second largest bank with 321 branches in Orissa after SBI. At the 10th biennial general body meeting conducted by the KPG bank officers' association on Sunday, he urged officers of the three RRBs to strengthen economic condition of the region.
