Call to identify beneficiaries who have not occupied their houses

Rajahmundry: The committee on housing for poor has decided to accelerate construction work in different areas of Rajahmundry urban area.

Headed by Sub-Collector K. Sasidhar, the committee which met here on Wednesday asked officials of the Housing Department to first identify those beneficiaries who had not occupied their houses even after completion of six months. MLA R. Suryaprakasha Rao, who is main member of the committee, said there should be one mechanism to allot these vacant houses to the most eligible beneficiary.

Interest accumulation

The Sub-Collector cautioned that those who had not occupied the houses had to bear the bank interest rate burden.

He asked the revenue, housing and bank officials to form as one filed committee and go personally to these vacant houses (about 62) and confirm the actual beneficiaries.

Deputation of VAO

Urban MRO K. Narasimha Murthy came out with a proposal that he would depute one VAO for 10 days per month.

Housing DE H. Balakrishna and Indian Overseas Bank Officer K. Krishna Murthy also participated in the meeting.
