Rajahmundry: The Centenary Celebrations Committee of Bhagat Singh has appealed to the State and Central governments to install a statue of the great freedom fighter and revolutionary on Parliament premises. The committee on Wednesday brought a book on the revolutionary compiled by veteran Communist leader Mullapudi Suryanarayana. Minister for Roads and Buildings Jakkampudi Ramamohana Rao released the book. He said that youth should derive inspiration from sacrifices made by patriots, and recalled how the great leader fought for the rights of political prisoners. MLA Rowthu Suryaprakasha Rao, Centenary Celebrations Committee chairman Ashok Kumar Jain and president, Chamber of Commerce, Bommana Rajakumar and others spoke on the occasion. PDSU and PYL also arranged a meeting to pay tributes to Bhagat Singh. IFTU general secretary J. Venkateswarlu, president K. Joji, PDSU district secretary M. Ramakrishna, K. Bapanna and others participated.
