Union Minister promises balanced growth

KADAPA: Union Minister for Urban Development S. Jaipal Reddy, on Wednesday, promised a balanced growth of rural and urban areas in the country while taking part in the public meeting along with the AICC president Sonia Gandhi here.

He said he was impressed by the priorities of Chief Minister Y. S. Rajasekhara Reddy that would ensure uniform development of all sectors and offered that the Centre would chip in with the required assistance To compliment the latter's effort, he had already ordered release of Rs.26 crores for development of Pulivendula and was giving Rs. 50 crores now for a drinking water scheme in Kadapa town, he added.

The Chief Minister announced that the dental college for which Ms. Gandhi laid the foundation on Wednesday would be completed within a year.

APCC president K. Keshava Rao, Y. S.Vivekananda Reddy, MP, Kadapa and M.Sai Prathap, MP, Rajampet, spoke. Amarnath Reddy, DCC president, proposed a vote of thanks.
