KARIMNAGAR: Government Whip D. Sridhar Babu has said that they would fight the byelection to Karimnagar Parliament constituency on the development taken up in the Telangana region. Addressing a press conference here on Wednesday, Mr. Sridhar Babu said that the pending irrigation projects such as the SRSP flood flow canal and the Yellampalli projects would be completed in a time-bound programme before 2009. Reiterating that the Congress was committed for the formation of Telangana State and constitution of second SRC, he said that the Telangana Rashtra Samiti leaders had also agreed for the second SRC on Telangana before forging an alliance during the 2004 elections. He also assured that AICC president Sonia Gandhi would take a decision on the formation of Telangana at an appropriate time. He alleged that the TRS had failed to take up any development in the Telangana region and flayed the TRS leaders for politicising the Outer Ring Road issue after pulling out from the Government Centre at the Centre.
