HYDERABAD: State Bharatiya Janata Party leaders are likely to meet in the first week of next month and consult the central unit on the Telangana Rashtra Samiti's request for a joint long-term struggle seeking separate Telangana. Senior TRS leader A. Narendra met BJP national secretary B. Dattatreya on Monday night and proposed that the parties to come together on the Telangana issue. He is also stated to have suggested that the parties strive to ensure that the Congress is `wiped out' in the next Assembly elections. Talking to reporters, Mr. Dattatreya quoted Mr. Narendra as having assured him that the party had snapped completely its ties with the UPA. He had informed the TRS leader that the State BJP decided to field former Union Minister Ch. Vidyasagar Rao in the Karimnagar Lok Sabha by-election.
ORR `scandal'
Describing `irregularities' in the Outer Ring Road project as `biggest scandal', he demanded a judicial enquiry into it besides cancellation of land registrations in Ranga Reddy district since 1999. He asked the Government to halve the ORR width to 250 ft and dismiss the chairmen of APIIC and HUDA. He said the BJP would organise a three-day 260-km `jana jagarana' scooter yatra from Kokapet to Vottinagulapalli on October 6. It would be led by former BJP president B. Laxman and cover more than 70 villages, including 10 in Medak district.
