Court auctions prime property
NEW DELHI:
A prime private property belonging to India's first Accountant General Sir Ganga Ram at Sikandra Road in Central Delhi was on Tuesday auctioned for a whopping Rs.117 crore by the Delhi High Court to a private infrastructure developer.
Though rarely does the High Court conduct auctioning of a property, a Division Bench of Justice M K Sharma and Justice Hima Kohli, had to intervene in the matter after descendants of the late Ganga Ram, who had sought partition of the property, moved the court for intervention.
Greater Kailash-1 based Triveni Infrastructure Private Company Limited (TIPCL) bagged the property at 7 Sikandra Road by making the highest bid of Rs 117 crore, over four other bidders mostly property developers. - UNI
