HASSAN: It has been planned to construct a hotel of international standards at Kemmanagundi, situated on the Bababudan range at a height of 1,434 m., in Chikmagalur district. An integrated proposal has been made for development of the picturesque hill station, also known as Krishna Raja Hills on the lines of Ooty in Tamil Nadu, according to Assistant Director of Tourism, Aadilakshmi. She told The Hindu that 20 acres of land had been acquired by the department for developing the hotel by the side of the Public Works Department Guest House atop of the hill. A team of architects visited the place along with the director of Department of Tourism Kumara Nayak recently. Integrated development of the hill station would be taken up at a cost of Rs. 5 crore, she added. Meanwhile, Chikmagalur District Tourism Development Committee headed by the Deputy Commissioner, has envisaged a detailed plan to provide infrastructure facilities at 17 tourist destinations including Horanadu, Kalasa, Sringeri, Balehonnur, Kaandya, Angadi, Hiremangalur, Mullayyanagiri, Bababudangiri, Hebbe, Manikyadhara and Kallatti Falls, Amritapura, Muttodi Wild Life Sanctuary, Kavikalgindi, Nanyada Byrapura, Ambaale and Belavadi.
