Bangalore: The family members of the missing girl, who committed suicide in Goa last Friday, identified her as their daughter on Wednesday. Sundararaj, stepfather of Nandini, and his family members saw the photographs and other articles brought by the Goa police here. "They saw the photographs, clothes and jewels brought by the Goa Police on Wednesday. They were convinced that it was Nandini," B.B. Ashok Kumar, Assistant Commissioner of Police, Ulsoorgate Division, said. A team of city police had been sent with the girl's family to help them perform all formalities in South Goa, he added. The city police had found that a missing case had also been registered against Kiran Kumar (19) with whom Nandini had attempted suicide. The case was filed with the Kengeri police on July 19. Kiran Kumar was a college dropout, Mr. Ashok Kumar said. On July 19, Mr. Sunderaraj reported to the Ulsoor Gate police that his 17-year-old daughter was missing. She was a second PU student at the Banappa Junior College. Nandini and Kiran Kumar, who went to Goa, attempted suicide on September 21 at Colva Beach. While Nandini died, Kiran Kumar, who was admitted to hospital, survived. On September 24, he disappeared from the hospital. The South Goa Police came to city and showed the belongings that Nandini was carrying. The police have found letters written by Nandini to Kiran Kumar. Efforts are on to trace Kiran Kumar.
