`Parinayam' audio cassette released

Staff Reporter

VIJAYAWADA : Mobilising people on a continuous basis to reject movies that are promoted by obscene posters is more effective in checking the menace than sporadic agitations, says Mayor Tadi Sakuntala.

Releasing the audiocassette of Rajshri Productions film `Parinayam' at a grand function organised at Fortune Murali Park on Wednesday evening, Ms.Sakuntala used the occasion to lash out at the new trends in promoting films. She said cinema posters often had large number of scantily dressed women. The influence wall posters had on people's thoughts was often underplayed. Similarly the influence films had on people were also downplayed, she said.

The Mayor said if all posters were decent like that of Parinayam, feminists would have little to do.

Melodious tunes

AIR station director M. Aditya Prasad said Ravindra Jain, the music director of the film, was one among the few directors who understood music. He said some new music directors preferred discordant notes to compose their music. In such a background, songs from Parinayam were very melodious. Hotelier and film exhibitior Muthavarapu Venkateswara Rao said Rajshri Productions produced many hits. Three Rajshri's Hindi films that were dubbed into Telugu turned out to be major hits. Prema Pavuram, Premalayam and Premaanuragam all began with the alphabet `P'. So their fourth film Parinayam would also do well at the box office, he said. Former Mayor Jandhyala Sankar also spoke.
