Security cover for Naidu `breached'

Special Correspondent

Unidentified person rams a car through barricades at TDP chief's Jubilee Hills residence as party MLAs stage dharna against lax security cover

HYDERABAD: The tight security provided for former Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu was breached when an unidentified person drove a car at high speed and rammed through the barricades at his Jubilee Hills residence on Tuesday night.

Protesting against the lax security for Mr. Naidu over 20 Telugu Desam MLAs staged a dharna in front of the DGP's office here on Thursday.

The police were clueless about the identity of the car and the person who broke the barricades.

Refuting the TDP's charges, Home Minister K. Jana Reddy said an inquiry had been ordered into the security breach. He held that Mr. Naidu remained "the best protected person" in the State with 154 uniformed men, including 30 drawn from the NSG, and eight vehicles at his disposal.
