Rupee ends lower

MUMBAI: The rupee today declined against the U.S. currency to Rs. 45.92/93 a dollar due to fresh dollar demand from banks after crude prices touched a high of nearly $63 level.

The customary month-end dollar demand also aided the fall in rupee, dealers said.

In active trade at the interbank foreign exchange market here, the Indian unit resumed lower at 45.90/92 a dollar from overnight close of 45.8950/9050 and after falling to a low of 45.94, ended at 45.92/93, lower than the previous close. — PTI
