IN A NEW ROLE: Home Minister Kodiyeri Balakrishnan at the shooting of a documentary produced by the Kerala police.
Thiruvananthapuram: After Home Minister Kodiyeri Balakrishnan, it is now the turn of Director-General of Police (DGP) Raman Srivastava to don the greasepaint in documentary films being produced by Kerala Police. Mr. Balakrishnan acted in a film titled `Traffic Police,' which is in the making. The shooting was held recently at Elankom Nagar road, near the Police Training College, Thycaud. The other films being produced by Kerala Police to educate police personnel and the public are `Beat duty,' `Police station' and `Murder case investigation.' Apart from the Home Minister and the DGP, Additional Director-General of Police Jacob Punnose, IGP Anil Kumar, DIG Nitin Agarwal, Commissioner Manoj Abraham, Dy. SPs Venugopal, Mohan Nair, Reghu, SI Natarajan, ASI Raj Kumar, PCs Karunakaran and Sunil are the actors. In `Traffic Police,' Mr. Balakrishnan lends a hand to the traffic police to rush the victim of a road accident to hospital. His private secretary and gunman also join Mr. Balakrishnan to take the injured to the hospital in the official car. The 35-minute short film is being directed by Nandan Pillai. Vinaya Varma Raja is the coordinator. Circle Inspector Raj Kumar plays the role of the traffic policeman, while Sugathan, a head constable with Poonthura police station, plays the role of the accident victim. CI Raj Kumar plays the main role in all the films.
