BANGALORE: Motorcycle-borne men robbed three women of gold chains, estimated at Rs. 1.20 lakh, in as many incidents in the city on Wednesday. The police said that around 6.45 p.m., two men, who were riding a motorcycle, accosted Lalitha (50) on 5th Cross, Canara Bank Colony. After the pillion rider snatched her gold chain estimated at Rs. 40,000, the two sped away. On a complaint by Lalitha, the Chandra Layout police have registered a case. In another incident, around 7 p.m., two men, riding a motorcycle, snatched a gold chain estimated at Rs. 65,000 from Padmavathi (38) in Girinagar police station limits. The incident occurred on 1st B Cross, 3rd Main, 1st Stage, Girinagar, the police said. A youth snatched a gold chain estimated at Rs. 15,000 from Puttamma (50) in Mahalakshmi Layout police station limits. The incident occurred around 5.30 p.m. while Puttamma was walking on 7th Cross, 4th Main, Mahalakshmi Layout. He escaped on a motorcycle on which his accomplice was waiting at a distance, the police said.
