MYSORE: After Yuva Dasara, which gave a new dimension to the Navaratri celebrations, it is Chinnara Dasara that is set to be an additional feature. Being held for the first time, Dasara for children is a three-day event of fun and frolic, which kicked off on Wednesday. For children of Mysore, who had a gala time in various camps conducted during summer at Kalamandira, it was a unique experience. For, they interacted with youngest film director Kishen, who directed Care of Footpath. The concept was initiated by the Dasara Executive Committee. What is more, it has excited the corporates who were keen to fund the programme and the Builders' Association of India sponsored the event. While the organisers are smiling at the tremendous response they received, the participants could not care less and did what they do best, soaked in the event and had a whale of a time. If it was interaction with Kishen in the morning, what followed was a demonstration of mimicry followed by a magic show that had the children enthralled and left them asking for more. On Thursday, the participants interacted with wildlife photographer Krupakar and Senani. The final event is scheduled for Friday when the children will be treated to a musical ensemble.
