Aneesh and Andrea win

MANGALORE: Aneesh Charith of SVS, Bantwal grabbed all five points to claim the title in the under-9 boys' section in the two-day inter-district chess championship organised by Derik's Chess School, which concluded here on Wednesday.

In the under-9 girls' category, Andrea D'Souza of St. Theresa pipped her school-mate Shalon Pais to claim the honour.

Boys' under-9: 1. Aneesh Charith (SVS, Bantwal) 5 pts.; 2. U.K. Sakshath (Mahalakshmi School, Kaup) 3.5; 3. Nihal Pereira (St. Theresa) 3.5.
