PSNA College takes volleyball title

DINDIGUL: PSNA College of Engineering Dindigul beat K.L.N. Information Technology, College, Madurai 24-26, 26-24, 25-18 for the title in the final of the Anna University Zone-9 inter-engineering women's volleyball tournament at Dindigul on Wednesday.

In the third place match Thiagarajar College of Engg. Madurai beat KLN College of Engg. Madurai 25-15, 25-23.

Kamarajar College triumphs

Kamarajar College of Engineering Virudhunagar won the title in the Anna University Zone-9 inter-engineering women's volleyball tournament defeating Mepco Schlenk Engineering College, Sivakasi 25-19, 19-25, 25-13 at Government College of Engineering ground, Tirunelveli on Wednesday. GEC Tirunelveli defeated Arulmigu Kalasalingam CE Kirshnankovil 25-17, 23-25, 25-22 to clinch the third spot.

Semifinalists spotted

Idayam Rajendran Residential School, St. Britto's HSS, American College HSS (all from Madurai) and MSP Solai Nadar Memorial HSS, Dindigul entered the semifinals of the Y's men's trophy State-level inter-school basketball tournament at S.P. Kothala Nadar Stadium, Virudhunagar on Thursday.

The results (Quarterfinals): IRR School Madurai 53 bt St. Xavier's Tirunelveli 45; St. Britto's Madurai 57 bt MDT Hindu Tirunelveli 30 ; ACHSS, Madurai 43 bt KVS HSS Virudhunagar 30 ; MSP Solai Nadar MHSS bt KVS Matric HSS, Virudhunagar 26.

Mepco in final

Mepco Schlenk Engineering College, Sivakasi entered the final of the Anna University Zone-10 inter-engg tennis tournament defeating host Arulmigu Kalasalingam College of Engineering, Krishnan Kovil 3-2 at Krishnankovil near Srivilliputhur on Thursday. In the other semifinal, Dr. Sivanthi Aditanar College of Engineering, Tiruchendur beat Kamarajar College of Engineering, Virudhunagar 3-0.

Madura College wins

Madura College beat Sourashtra College, Madurai 2-0 in the Madurai Kamaraj University `B' zone inter-collegiate football tournament at G.T.N. Arts College ground, Dindigul on Thursday.

The results: Madura 2 (Nagendran, Suresh) bt Sourashtra 0; PMT , Usialmpatti 4 (Veerakumar 2, Manohar, Saravanan) bt Pannaikadu Veerammal 0; Rama Praba , Dindigul 3 (Vishnu 2, Deenadayalan) bt CPA Bodi 1 (Sathya).
