ANANTAPUR: Deputy Inspector-General of Kurnool range K.R.M. Kishore Kumar has asked civil police constables passing out of the Police Training College (PTC) to serve people while conforming to the law. Speaking at the passing out parade of 225 constables, including a woman, at the PTC parade grounds here on Thursday, he said constables must maintain physical fitness throughout their service. The constables were told not to hesitate to act against the anti-social elements in any circumstance. The job of a constable was to help the police machinery to uphold the law and not a licence to harass people, he said. He praised the college as it had the infrastructure and track record of successfully training different categories from constables to IPS officers. Of those trained at the PTC, five were post-graduates, 46 were graduates, 91 Intermediate students and 83 SSC qualified. Of the total trainees, 213 were from Cyberabad Commissionerate, four from Hyderabad city police, two each from Visakhapatnam rural and Nalgonda and one each from Mahabubnagar, Karimnagar, Medak and Nellore. While Ravibabu from Nalgonda was given the all-rounder shield for showing merit in all aspects of training, P. Yadagiri was adjudged the best in firing. They were given cash prizes.
