THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Public Works Minister T.U. Kuruvilla said in the Assembly on Thursday that the Government proposed to bring a legislation to facilitate land acquisition for public works. Replying to a debate on the demand for grants for Public Works, Mr. Kuruvila said development of five roads would be taken up under the road safety programme. The Kollam-Thiruvananthapuram National Highway would be upgraded to international standard. The Government would give emphasis to the construction of bypasses for NH 49 at Thripunithura, Muvattupuzha and Kothamangalam. Besides, work would be taken up on the proposed Nedumbassery-Kodaikanal road. Later, the House approved the demand for grants totalling Rs.670.24 crore. Special Correspondent
