KARIMNAGAR: Reportedly disturbed over a family dispute, a taxi driver jumped to death from atop a three-storeyed shopping complex right in front of a huge crowd here on Thursday. Locals spotted the man climbing atop Annapurna shopping mall and sitting on the parapet in the early hours. They alerted the police when he threatened to jump. A police team led by A. Mogiliah, town DSP, J. Amarender Reddy, CI, and Srinivas, SI, rushed to the spot along with fire service personnel. By the time, the police could identify his antecedents (identified as Abdul Rahim) and send one of his relatives to rescue Rahim, he jumped to his death. The massive crowd was shocked to see him lie in a pool of blood. Mr. Srinivas said Rahim (35), residing in Kashmirgadda locality, was married in 1998. Later, Rahim divorced his wife. He was disturbed when he came to know that the court verdict could go against him. The One Town police have registered a case against his wife and in-laws. Police sources said Rahim's father Mohd. Mahmood lodged a complaint stating that his son committed suicide unable to bear the mental torture from in-laws.
